Title: Project Engineer

General Position Summary:
Assist a group of Superintendents and Project Managers who cooperatively make general work assignments outlining overall objectives and requirements. Perform assignments on own initiative in compliance with established policies and procedures. Create and maintain a customer service culture within the project team, delivering a high level of service to our customers/contacts. Act as liaison between Superintendents, Project Managers, Clients, and Subcontractors referring questions to Superintendents or Project Managers as needed.
Salary Range and Benefits:
• $54,080-$62,400 based on 2080 worked/earned PTO hours

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
• Maintain and/or initialize Requests for Information (RFI’s).
• Organize and maintain product submittals. • Review project plans/drawings. • Organize and track as-built drawings. • Complete material take-offs.
• Review contract plans for errors.
• Develop, organize and maintain project closeout documents.
• Provide project team with layout and overall technical assistance.
• General assistance for Superintendents and Project Managers as required.
• Participate in estimating activities as required
• Participate in subcontractor buyout as required
• Read and respond (as applicable) to emails within one business day.
Secondary Functions:
• Create and maintain project schedule or assist Project Superintendent with same
• Organize and maintain project files.
• Assist project team in providing a safe and quality product to the client.
• AUTOCAD drawing as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Scope:
Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operating from specific and definite directions and instructions. Projects are fast paced and dynamic and an entrepreneurial approach is desired. Mistakes/errors may result in work stoppage, loss of business and/or poor customer relations, all of which can have negative financial implications for the organization.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position involves supervision of subcontractors or O’Neill employees as directed by the Project Manager or Superintendent.
Interpersonal Contacts:
Has both internal and external contacts. The most common internal contacts are with own department staff and supervisors. The most frequent external contacts are with design engineers, architects, subcontractors and suppliers. Both types of interactions involve information exchange and problem solving.

Education and/or Experience:
• Minimum two-year Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural or similar degree or equivalent experience required.
• Advanced math skills and knowledge are required.
• Experience using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Project.
Job Conditions:
• Normal office working conditions, either at main office or jobsite location.
• Frequent visits to job sites
• Working hours are between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the O’Neill office or jobsite, with substantial overtime.
• Exposure to computers.
