Brewer and Company of WV, Inc. has a full-time career opportunity in its Morgantown, WV office for a Fire Sprinkler Designer/Layout Technician. This person will be responsible for laying out sprinkler heads and system piping and performing hydraulic calculations to meet applicable codes and standards. They will work with Project Managers to ensure the design follows the project estimate and meets client expectations. They will be responsible for communicating and coordinating with other trades to minimize conflicts during installation. The designer must have a basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office and will be trained on any additional required software. No fire code knowledge is required; training will be provided to become proficient.
Primary responsibilities:
Use AutoCAD to layout sprinkler systems
Perform hydraulic calculations
Survey existing conditions
Communicate and coordinate with team members and other trades
Interpret and apply project drawings and specifications
Interpret and apply NFPA and other applicable codes
Job Requirements:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
BIM, drafting, and construction experience a plus
